Mid-Autumn Festival will be on 22 September 2010. Have you all bought mooncakes yet? Most people will be having Mid-Autumn Festival celebration during the weekends of 18-19 September 2010. If you are feeling bored, you can feel free to go some places. for the kids, they may go promontory to do some kite flying or other places to hold their lanterns. While some of us, who wants to get the atmosphere of Mid-Autumn Festival in Singapore, you can consider go to Chinatown and Clarke Quay area.
Chinatown will be crowded on 18 September due to Mid-Autumn Celebrations. If you do not like there and wish to see more decorations, you can walk further down to central (shopping mall) to see there too.
I went to Central 2 weeks ago and took some photos of some of the decorations near there.
There are quite a lot of interesting decorations floating on the waters of Clarke Quay area and the view is better during night time due to its lightnings. Those decorations which are floating on the waters are on famous Chinese stories. Did not manage to take photos of that as they were not out on the water then. But I may return on another day to see the decorations during night time if I am free before they remove the decorations.
They also have some Taiwan booths there as well as selling some food and items that may be related to the Chinese Culture and mid-autumn festival.
So what are you waiting for? Considering sightseeing and get a feel of the atmosphere and appreciate the moonlight.
that’s all folks and enjoy eating delicious mooncake ahead!!!
