Yes, Sentosa Flowers will be back again in 2013 at Sentosa Island during Chinese New Year period from 9 Feb 2013 to 17 Feb 2013, from 10am to 7pm. This time round, people will need to purchase ticket to view the Sentosa Flowers at Palawan Beach. I made good use of my Islander promo to get 2 tickets at the price of 1 for my mother and I before the online promo ended for the Islanders.

Free entry for people who enter via boardwalk during CNY holidays!

Lucky for those who entered Sentosa via Boardwalk from 10-12 Feb 2013. Free admission. As you know many people enter Sentosa via Sentosa Express and it was as badly congested as 1 of the Harborfront MRT exit on Chinese New Year holiday period (as packed as when you board MRT during peak hours). This is to encourage people to walk. Good exercise for my mother and I.

Reaching RWS at Sentosa Island. 蛇年有什么不同呢?Any difference for the year of the snake?

Resort World Sentosa Singapore looked quite bare at this area this time round.

I never seen that before. Heard that it was unveiled during the grand opening of Resort World Sentosa in Dec 2012 by our Singapore’s Prime Minister – Mr Lee Hsien Loong.

Big golden dragon with 2 snakes (1 at each side)

Red snake 红蛇 (looks evil)

Green snake 青蛇 hissing

新年发大财!Have a prosperous year ahead! Very happy to see so many colourful flowers here. 很高兴可以在这里看到好多不同颜色的花。

For the past few days of the new year, the weather was quite bad as it rains during late mornings or early afternoon time. I had to bring umbrella along as well. 今年的天气不太好,一直下雨。大家一定要带把伞出门哦!

Walking for a distance from RWS to Beach station. Still haven’t reach palawan beach yet to collect my ticket for Sentosa Flowers 2013.

Saw the map of Sentosa Flowers. Useful for my navigation.

After collecting my ticket, I finally reached 1 of the entrances to Sentosa Flowers 2013 event. 终于抵达目的地!

There are a few entrances to Sentosa Flowers 2013 at Palawan Beach. So do not worry if you missed 1 of the entrances. However, you have to show your ticket to get entry to the event for an exchange of wrist band.

Entrance! 入口处

The Giant Floral Carpet. (Sorry that my photo wasn’t well taken for that)

The spiral area.

The kid was sitting on top of a snake.

Have you heard of the story of Nuwa女娲补天?  Heard Nuwa 女娲 is known as a Snake goddess.

Welcome to the pirate cove! Aye captain!

Why the 2 snakes are sharing drinks together? 1 male & 1 female snake with a heart background behind. Hmm…. Valentine’s day is coming soon and it falls during the Chinese New Year period. No wonder… 今年农历正月初五是西方的情人节。难怪啦!

Caterpillar…..

Becoming a butterfly. ..

I love rabbits.

Spring of art for snake. Reminds me of Africaan style art.

I think some of us may know that Sentosa do have a golden snake called Lucy. Do catch her special appearance during selected timing – 11am, 2pm and 4pm at the Animal Encounters.

This is how she looks like.

Reminds me of going to Africaan style house…

Playground treehouse

Playground treehouse?

Ready to play Snakes and Ladders during the year of snake? 蛇年玩和蛇有关的板上游戏?

At Arid Garden…

Spiral pattern. Does snake like to be in that shape?

Snake gourd (Serpent gourd)

Now heading to one of the exhibit across the bridge. Went during the high tide period.. My feet was soaking wet after crossing the bridge. Guess it is best not to cross the bridge during high tide and when there’s so many people crossing the bridge. My mum had to take off her sandals instead.

The best is not to have so many people to cross the bridge at the same time. We are exerting quite a lot of pressure and weight on the wooden boards and I fear that the ropes may snapped off if too much weight is being exerted and creates a lot of tension (for the ropes) for supporting our weights.

Sunflowers

finally reached the southernmost point of Continental Asia after crossing the bridge. 巴拉湾岛 Pulau Palawan with the sight of Sunflowers!

Slipper

Summer of love with sunflowers…

Returned back to Sentosa Island…

Ultra long snake which is made up of sand and beautifully colored.

Close up of the red ‘snake’

Now it’s the tales of the snake… Enjoy the pictorals.

The farmer and the snake

The farmer and his children

The goose who laid golden eggs…

Garden of plants along the way…

The grasshopper and the ant

The peacok and the crane. Feathers of the peacock are made up of real feathers.

The mouse

Ready for a flower pose?

Autumn colours….

Different types of pumpkins… Wow!

Pumpkin carriage

Does it remind you of Cinerella story? The pumpkin carriage but not with the squirrel.

Colourful Snowflakes!

Welcome to Tree of Life…

Not a nice shot taken for this.

Tivoli Garden. Tivoli Garden is famous amusement park and pleasure garden in Copenhagen, Denmark. However, do note that this is not the real Tivoli garden.

Looking forward for more exciting features for the next Sentosa Flowers 2013.
