《葉問3》先行預告 Ip Man 3 Teaser Trailer

Ip Man 3 Making of (Action)

Movie Review:

If you enjoy martial arts and fighting scenes, you will enjoy this movie as it showcases Wing Chun 咏春拳, a form of Chinese Martial Arts which is quite popular in Hong Kong. Muk Yan Jong 木人樁(Wooden Dummy is frequently featured in this movie.

For this action packed movie, it focuses on the moves and the grooves. I would say that Patrick Tam’s imaging for the hooligan was well done. Lynn Hung looked more elegant in her qipao compared to the previous installment of Ip Man 1 & Ip Man 2.

It also showcases the emotional side of Ip Man with his wife and his younger son Ip Ching and jealousy of Cheung Tin Chi who thinks his Wing Chun is authentic compared to Ip Man’s Wing Chun.

Do watch if you like Martial arts.

Visit to Trick Eye Museum Singapore

Trickeye Museum Logo

Trick Eye is short for ‘Trick of the eye’, which refers to an art technique that turns two-dimensional paintings into three-dimensional images through the use of optical illusions. With that, 2D paintings on the museum walls, floors and ceilings appear to pop out of the surface and come to life. Visitors are more than welcome to explore the various themed galleries with their eyes, hands and even cameras. Step inside the paintings to complete a visual narrative with your creative poses, and watch a “tricky” story unfold before your camera. At Trick Eye Museum, you’ll be creating unforgettable memories with friends and family amid fun and laughter, with a dash of educational and cultural enrichment.

Thank you The Influencer Network and Trick Eye Museum Singapore for this wonderful invitation. I had tons of fun posing photos and upload on my .instagram account.

Travel: Xiamen

This was my 1st visit to Xiamen, Fujian Province, China. 这是我第一次来厦门,福建省,中国。Xiamen is a bustling city in China. It will be good to stay near Xiamen Train Station for the first visit. Most of the people speaks Minnan Dialect. If you know Mandarin or Hokkien, it is good.

This is one of the most famous landmark on Xiamen Island when people are boarding ferry to Gulang Yu鼓浪屿!

Some of the famous attractions on Gulang Yu鼓浪屿!

The famous Koxinga statue! 郑成功塑像

You will need to go to the ferry terminal to take 5min ride to Gulang Yu 鼓浪屿 to have a closer sight of these places. Packages are available at the ferry terminal.

Tried their famous Sha Cha Mian (Bought at RMB20). 尝试了著名的沙茶面。Should try it.

I love Xiamen’s Bus Rapid Transport (BRT). I tried boarding their buses on the bus rapid transport system during my stay in Xiamen. 我喜欢廈門快速公交系統。Rm0.50 for a short distance ride!

You will need to get these blue chips to board the buses. People will have to pay for the distance travelled from point A to point B. You should try their BRT too if you visit Xiamen!

Transport in Xiamen is very convenient from Xiamen Island to the mainland. You can see a lot of road bridges and see Jimei University 集美大学 along the way!

Will come back again if I have the opportunity!

A Trip to Pulau Ketam (Crab Island),Klang, Selangor, Malaysia

My first trip to Pulau Ketam (Crab Island), Klang, Selangor, Malaysia.

I had never visited this place before however, I know Pulau Ketam is located on an island near Port Klang, Selangor Malaysia. It is an offshore island and people have to take a ferry from Port Klang to Pulau Ketam. You have to go to Port Klang – South Port to take the ferry to Pulau Ketam.

South Port

Port Klang was known as Port Sweetenham and was renamed as Port Klang. Port Klang also has a KTM Komuter station where people can take a train from KTM train station or KL Sentral to Port Klang.

You can buy the ferry ticket from the ferry terminal or buy the ticket on the ferry. Currently, each ticket costs around RM7 for a 45-minute ferry ride. If you are lucky enough, you may be able to spot dolphins during the ferry ride.

Here’s the available timings for the ferry rides from Port Klang to Pulau Ketam and vice versa.

Selamat Datang ke Pulau Ketam! Welcome to Crab Island! There are two villages on Pulau Ketam; Kampung Pulau Ketam and Kampung Sungai Lima.

I stayed the biggest hotel in Pulau Ketam – Hotel Sea Lion in Pulau Ketam within Kampung Pulau Ketam! It is located very near to Pulau Ketam Jetty. The owner of this hotel – Mr Andy Cha, is the village head of Pulau Ketam. He’s very friendly person and I enjoyed my stay in this hotel.

You can visit its website at http://www.sealion.com.my/index-sealion.html for its different packages and room types. 1 of the packages do allow people to have private karaoke party too!

Stayed in a room facing the jetty and the sea view. When there is low tide, you will love the sight of crabs moving about. It is not just one or a few, it is more than hundreds of crabs! Thus this place is named after crabs. This is only a small section of the area being taken by my digital camera.

Touring around the island is a must. People either walk, cycle with bicycles, take a boat ride or ride motorised bike within the island. No sight of cars and traffic lights at all! It is best to wear a comfortable pair of flat shoes to move about on wooden planks or concentrate ground. You can rent a bicycle at RM5 per day.

You will see a lot of salted fish and dried prawns on this island too. It is a good place to purchase a lot of dried sea products on Pulau Ketam at an affordable price.

Seafood meal is a must in Pulau Ketam, especially Ketam (Crab). Fresh from the sea.

Best to have a steamboat dinner there.

It is also good to explore part of Pulau Ketam with a boat ride to see the different village settlements (Chua Chu Kang, Hokkien village, Teochew village, Hainan village) and the

Temple in Pulau Ketam, Klang, Selangor, Malaysia

Enjoyed my stay in Pulau Ketam. It is quite different from the bustling cities of Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Malaysia and Singapore. A form of quiet, kampong life on an island. No traffic lights. Happy people with not much worries. It was good to experience such simple life and learnt a lot. People must be contented with what they have in life.

Hope to come back to Pulau Ketam again! Will update part of this post with Chinese Characters!

Food Review: Inle Myammar Restaurant

Welcome – Mingalaba! This was my second time trying Burmese Food in Singapore and my first visit to a Burmese Restaurant in Singapore – named Inle Myammar Restaurant. The word ‘Inle’ may sound familiar as there is a place called Inle Lake in Myammar. Just like there are quite a number of places named after Burmese places along Balestier and Novena area such as Shan Road, Irrawady Road, Mandalay Road and etc.

Inle Myammar Restaurant is located at Peninsula Plaza. Peninsula Plaza is located near City Hall MRT station and it is very famous hangout places for Burmese in Singapore.

I tried its set meal – $12.90++/pax (exclude 10% service charge and 7% Gst). Its set meal – allows people to choose 1 Main Dish + 1 Side Dish + 1 Drink.

I opted for Butter Flavoured rice with Chicken Curry, Saykalama “Bird’s nest drink” and Fried Tofu Fritters and soup.

Butter Flavoured Rice – I could taste the butter in the rice.

Burmese Chicken Curry – I never tasted Burmese Chicken Curry before. It is a bit spicy – acceptable level of spiciness for me.

Soup is okay for me.

I tried Tofu fritters. Quite okay. Small and crunchy.

I did not manage to take picture of the Burmese Bird nest drink. (the pink coloured drink). It’s refreshing and nice to drink.

Ordered a dessert –  Shwe Yin Aye aka Myammar Chengdol. It has Chengdol, sago, coconut agar agar, white bread and jelly served with chilled coconut milk. Full of tropical taste and looks. It’s sweet and I did not expect that Burmese also like to use Chengdol and coconut for their desserts. As I tasted Malaysia Chengdol before.

I thought that Burmese Food tends to be salty than expected. However, after trying their desserts, I did not expect their desserts to be sweet.

If you wish to try Burmese Food, do come to Inle Myanmmar Restaurant and try out their all day set meal. It costs less than $20! You can also go for their lunch time promotion as well. Quite affordable price.

Inle Myammar Restaurant is located at:

Peninsula Plaza 111 North Bridge Road #B1-07 (A/B) Singapore 179098.

Opening Hours: 11am ~ 10pm Daily
