Commemorating 50 years of Greening Singapore Music Video Featuring Big Bro & Dr Jia Jia and sung by Lorraine Tan

I am sharing this video as the intro was very interesting from Dr Jia Jia’s dialogue with his big bro. It is not easy to have 50 years of greening. In fact many places has celebrate 50years of anniversary such as National Park Board, Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Church of Singapore this year.

Hope people can save more trees and be more environmental friendly. Hope you enjoy this video and Lorraine Tan’s song.

World Environment Day – 5 June – what are you planning?

Since tomorrow is World Environment Day, so what are you planning to do to promote green?

Perhaps joining Eco Action Day activitiy. Eco Action Day is an annual energy saving campaign held in Singapore to encourage office participation nationwide, in commemoration of World Environment Day on 5th June.

Perhaps we should reduce, reuse and recycle and cut down electrical usage as much as we can. Or take public transport. I always take public transport or walk to the destination. I do not smoke too as smoking pollutes the air and the production of the cigarettes involves in chopping down many trees.

Or if you want to use your musical talents, you can contribute your skills or write a beautiful song to take part in NEA Eco Music Challenge 2012 to promote your love to save the environment as well as stand a chance to win wonderful prizes. Feel free to visit http://www.nea.ecomusic.sg for more information.

Whether you are in primary, secondary or of any ages, free feel to take part if you have wonderful composition to share with everybody. There’s also talents wanted section whereby singers or musicians are needed for making the song even better.

Nathan Hartono is the ambassador for this year’s NEA Eco Music Challenge 2012. Here’s his song – WE CHANGE. Hope you enjoy it.

Just in case if you are running out of ideas of writing a song, feel free to visit my previous blog posts for inspiration. Or watch Captain Planet cartoons. Haha.

Veto Dilma! – Vote to save the Amazon!

Quote from the website – http://www.avaaz.org/en/veto_dilma_global/?fp

The Brazilian Congress has just passed a catastrophic forestry bill that gives loggers and farmers free rein to cut down huge swaths of the Amazon. Now only President Dilma can stop it.

Fortunately, the timing is on our side — in weeks Dilma will host the world’s biggest environmental summit and insiders say she cannot afford to open it as the leader who approved the destruction of the rainforest. She’s facing mounting domestic pressure, with 79% of Brazilians rejecting this new bill. Now, if we join them we can turn up the global heat and push her to axe the bill, not the rainforest.

Dilma could make her decision any day. Let’s get her to veto the bill now. Use the form on the right to sign the urgent petition to stop the Amazon chainsaw massacre and if you have already signed — send this to everyone.

* Avaaz is joining hands with Greenpeace, WWF and key Brazilian organizations to amplify the impact of this crucial campaign.

My reflection to this matter:

I hope people can join in the effect to oppose to this new bill. How can she allow people to anyhow burn or chop off trees to destruct the environment of thousands of animals and species as well as environmental destruction.

Does she know what are the effects of global warming? I can feel that the weather in Singapore and the rest of the world are heating up very fast. I myself, am sweating at home due to the unbearable heat.

Does she know that trees help to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide gases? How about replenishing the supplies for the dead trees? I hope people can educate more people about the ecological information.

Please help to vote to save the Amazon at this link – http://www.avaaz.org/en/veto_dilma_global/?copy

Thank you to all my readers. I hope you can do a part to save the environment.
