Walk with AIDS patients on World Aids Day in Singapore

Since World Aids Day is coming soon on 1 Dec 2012, I would like to share with my readers this event on ‘Walk With Me’ at Orchard – Scape warehouse from 2pm to 6pm. Visit http://www.aidswalk.sg to view the details of the event.

AIDS Walk 2012 walking towards zero new infections, zero deaths, zero stigma and discrimination. Registration is free for taking part in this walking event. I am sure many people  can be very fearful of HIV positive patients or patient diagnosed with AIDS and even sitting or walking near them.

I would like to recap that AIDS cant be spread while having a meal together or even walk together on the streets. It only can be spread through exchange body fluids via sexual activity or open wounds and infected needles.

You also can donate some money to help these AIDS patients as the medication for treatment for AIDS is indeed very expensive. Some of the money will be used for subsiding their medications so that they can live longer. Donations which are $50 and above will be available for tax deduction. To allow tax deduction, please include your NRIC, FRIN or RCB number and full name.

Still can remember my previous post on :

Visit to Patient Care Centre @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital & Be positive with people living with HIV

Patient Care Centre at Tan Tock Seng Hospital – Communicable Disease Centre 1 do sell quite a number of nice handicrafts for raising funds for HIV positive patients. All proceeds of the sales items will go to Patient care centre. If you are interested to purchase them for gifts or yourself, you can go to 1 of the stall located near Kopitiam at Tan Tock Seng Hospital main atrium area level 1 or email to gina_he_quek@ttsh.com.sg to order them.

I also mentioned about Prevention is better than cureIt is best to prevent with ABC which are:

A – Abstain from having casual sex

B – Be faithful to your partner

C – Use Condom Correctly

Visit  http://www.afa.org.sg/bepositive.php on how you can make a difference in AIDS patients’ lives.

I also hope that more people will be aware of this and understand more about this. Do spread this message to your friends and family as well.

Singapore Blog Awards 2012 @ Singapore Flyer – The Singapore Food Trail

What ‘s going on with this strong tremor here?

What is going on with this electrolyte blast? Ouch. Who is fighting?

Oh, This is the 5th Singapore Blog Awards 2012.  Guess the finalists were fighting with each other to be the winner in the categories they were in.

This’s the 1st time held at Singapore Flyer, the Singapore Food Trail area, with its theme – Superhero. Thank you Omy.sg for the wonderful invitation to this event.

I should have worn this green shirt to the event since it is relevant to the theme. But I did not have the time to change to that. Don’t you think so?

Yes, it’s Green Lantern, if you do read superhero comics.

OR wear something like this?

A picture of me during my company’s Dinner & Dance – I was wearing all in black.

I was wearing black for the theme – Heroes & Villains during dinner & dance then.

Up next, there’s a best costume competition. Of course, it’s related to the theme of this event – Superpower!

Picture from Singapore Blog Awards Facebook page

There are 6 contestants for the best costume. Cat Woman, Batman with his specs and poison ivy.

Image taken from Singapore Blog Awards website

The Joker, The Loki and a female superhero (standing next to Loki) took part in this contest. So guess who is the winner? This character used to appear in 1 part of the franchise of the superhero movie. Can you guess who is the winner?

Taken from Singapore Blog Awards website

Haha – it’s the Joker! Congrats!

Anyway, since this event was held at The Singapore Food Trail, of course, I must intro to what was on the food menu!

Drinks – Sugar cane juice (serve in plastic cups or mugs in the olden days in around 1960s)

Here’s my lunch – Ang Mo Kio Yong Heng Fried Baby Squid Hokkien Mee 麵建福仔東蘇炒興永桥茂宏, Satay from Alhambra Satay Club, Fried Carrot Cake from Changi Village Mei Xiang stall ( but it was well camourflage by the food), Chicken meat from Bugis Street Ah Huat Hainanese Chicken Rice 白沙浮阿发海南鸡饭, and satay beehoon from Old Airport Road stall there.

Rojak (Youtiao with pineapple & special sauce) and meatball soup from Bedok stall there, bak kut teh from Sin Ming Road Rong Chen Bak Kut Teh 新明路榕城肉骨茶, fried oysters from Katong Keah and Chinatown Ann Chin popiah (the view was blocked by the pots).

So people do not need to purposely travel all over Singapore (from Changi Village to Bedok to Ang Mo Kio) just to have good food. Just come to Singapore Flyer – The Singapore Food Trail and you can enjoy a variety of nice tasting food at 1 place.

Well, I am looking forward for the 6th Singapore Blog Awards next year! See ya!
